jComply Online Collaboration and Document Management

jComply was initially developed for on premise deployments. When jComply decided to migrate to cloud as a hosted solution, Tabaq took on the project to redesign the application based on Amazon EC2 cloud platform. Read on for details.

The Challenge

jComply’s dilemma

jComply was developed as a policy and procedure management system based on JEE technologies. With the shift of client server applications to cloud, jComply management decided to launch jComply as a hosted application.

The challenge was to select the right cloud platform, redesign UX and develop the application on the cloud infrastructure. The commercial pricing model had to be designed keeping in view the competition and client’s business goals.

The Outcome

Our suggestion

Tabaq selected Amazon EC2 and S3 storage as the cloud platform for jComply. The UX was redesigned creating a uniform look for PC, tablet and smart phone users.

New social collaboration features were introduced alongside file sharing, policy and procedure management, personal and business plans. A one year roadmap was also created to introduce new modules and functionality.
